problem help!

Ok guys im down here in killeen texas and my car broke down. * i live in iowa and will be going back this monday. My car broke down on the way down to tx. took it to the dealer and they couldnt find out what was wrong

compresstion test came back great, no leaks, nothing obvious.

car started bogging down and wouldnt accelerate until i finally had to pull over and it died and would not start back up. about a half hour later it started back up and ran just fine.

now i have the car back and it seems to only now hesitate at higher rpms when i get to about 6k it seems like i almost hit a wall or like your runnin thru water and its really hard to accelerate. now i have a midpipe so i know my cat is not plugged. I just installed new plugs probably 3 months ago.

so im thinking bad ignition coils?- now if it is how can i pin point which ones are bad? I have the mazsport coils. next if it is that how can i get a new mazport coil or coils to me, so i can install b4 i go home.

next fuel injectors?

or fuel pump?

I dont know any help i would appreciate b/c im afraid shes gonna want to break down again when i start heading home..

what else could it be?

Any CEL? Coils will cause a misfire..and it will throw 0300-0302 codes

( usually :) )

fluid motor sports can get you the right coils if you need new coils

no check enguine light so far damn.. what else could this be guys??? plugs?

again car runs ok till high rpm like6k then it start bogging down and hesitant to accelerate. idle is ok a little rougher than usual but not much? any ideas ppl!?

its your coils.. i have mazsport also. i had them replaced the coils before they shut down (lucky) but they were in for about 3 months and all of a sudden my idle was stumbly and acc. was hesitating. well i wasnt getting spark to my leading plug.

came out coils were fine it was the module that was bad. the ignitior. they repalced that and i am ok.

idk how you can get any coils form them... get some stock coils. 1) cheaper 2) they wil work :)

^what he said, it has to the the mazsport coils

that's the first thing I would do...switch them with your oem's if you still have them and see what happens

heres the problem guys im in texas, and i live in Iowa 12 hours away. so just putting my oem coils back in is not going to work since they are at my house 800 miles away...

So your saying that my mazport ignition box is going wacky?? and this is whats causing my car to have like this no power in high rpm hesitant thing?.so should i just buy a bhr or esmeril? well ima see if the esmeril is still available in the f/s add since i need this fix asap! heres my other problem im styain w/ my cousin who just got back from iraq so we have no internet so i have to drive to the travel lodge n harker hieghts to still their internet!lol

you think i should just buy new ignition guys? what would you do.

oh and how would i get a new ignitor box??

Sounds like coils to me!

wassup_nuthin Jan 15, 2009 08:34 PM

Ok guys i called my mom back in iowa and had her go to my house and get in my garage and get my oem coils and she overnighted them to me today so hopefully this will fix my problem for the time being, then if that does fix it i will order the bhr ignition solution just to have a better ignition since im spray nitrous.

oh and yes i plan on coming to the meet broken rx8 or fixed w/ gay oem coils rx8 lol.

idk on how to get a new ignitor... unless you find someone selling a good used kit.. but other then that the kit is useless. what mazsport did was resolder the cicuit board in the ignitor. possible have a loose solder joint.

to late now but you get a chance and get home, put the mazsport back in, and mess with the plug going to the ignitor box and see if your idle changes.

make sure your grounds are clean too. you would be surprised.. but good luck and hope you get running again
