premix and break-in
Hello, i've tried searching and reading the premix threads, especially the large 135 pager. But my question involves the use of premixing with a new engine and break in period.
I just found out my 8 will be getting a new engine, its a 2005 with about 115,000km. Not bad, i'm quite happy it made it that long, partly luck i'm sure. I followed the mazda maintenance to a T (except the oil changes, that was every 3 months or 3000km), wanted to do other things, but fear of voiding the warranty stopped that from happening. However, now that i am getting a new motor, or well a reman-engine, and will be out of warranty in less then a year i'm looking at those options now such as premixing, going catless, faster flowing waterpump, etc. But my question is, when i get the new engine at what point do you start premixing. I've read tons of articles on which premix is best and at what ratio, etc. But should i do the break-in period WITH or WITHOUT the premix??? Thanks |
With. Always with.

use premix from day 1, hell u should u use now, cuz when u get ur engine it will see premix right away.
think of premox as a film to protect your housings, just like how those clear film protect the bumpers. |
thanks for the speedy replies. point taken, just ordered a case.
