im looking to replace my ignition coils on my 2004 rx8 and was just wondering how much does a set of four cost and where i could buy them from?

$57.09/each from Rosenthal Mazda. I get all my parts from them:

Now that the coils are "mainstream" (or whatever you call "available to the general public vendors") the prices dropped significantly.

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...RPTUNEAMS_____

$29.59 each, BEFORE the current deal of 15% off discount.

A couple months ago they had 15% off and free shipping over $100, and the entire set of coils, plugs, and wires was $182 shipped. :)

Save yourself time and money (in the long run) and go BHR...If you aren't wanting to spend that much, or can't afford it just yet, then check rockauto.com...Pretty cheap there.

I say go with bhr if you plan on keeping the car for awhile. It's worth the extra money.

Only issue I have about buying OEM style Coils from eBay is are they the later iteration (modified) coils that Mazda used from MY2008 Series 1's and all Series 2's.

Coils from a Mazda Dealer who advertises on this site sells them for $54.96 each.

I am a great believer in supporting those here who support our club Website, without them we as a club could not survive, being in Australia I can not use the Mazda Motorsports special site for 'Mazda racers' at even better than Dealer Parts prices, so I get all my OEM Mazda Parts that can be used for Aussie Spec RHD Mazda's from Jason at Montgomery's.

Having said that we should also support RX-8 club vendors, they pay the RX-8 Forum bills too, like Paul at Mazmart or Charles (Ray) from BHR also fantastic Service (Ray he does know what a Customer IS about).

So yeah, you may pay a little more (not always) than eBay or other suppliers, but PLEASE support RX-8 club Vendors and RX-8 Club Advertisers.

Concur, Tommy the parts manager at Rosenthal will take good care of you.

'course if you really want to be care-free pretty much for the life of the car, go with the BHR system.

Either way you support site sponsors, at a fair price, and not some eBay knockoff.

That's about the same price as Advance Auto, and they have a lifetime warranty.

I 100% agree with this. When I needed spark plugs I bought from Mazmart, now I need coils and again I bought them from Mazmart. I am sure he gets enough orders there to keep the place alive but I appreciate his prices on OEM stuff($195 for coils, $208 shipped to me) and would like the company not to go anywhere.

I plan on just sticking to OEM coils unless I go with the bhr kit. I am sure the random brands of coils probably work fine but at least I know the OEM ones will last ~35k.
