Side jacking points

I have done some searches about where to jack up the car from the sides since my garage is too small for me to jack it up from the front or rear. Since I don't have tools to cut into a hockey puck just yet, is it okay to jack it up from the jackstand point on the rear temporary? What about if I want to do this going forward for autox or just swapping the rear tire, just want to check to see if it is okay.

Thanks

You can do that.

but the proper jack point is the fins on the Rear Diff.

I know, this is temporary, I have a flat tire, this is the only thing I can do to get the car up!

For my 8, which is lowered and has the appearance package (04) i pull the side I want to jack up on on 2X4's, two under each wheel, which gives me enough clearance then to jack it up. just make sure you put the 2X4's back under the wheels when you go to lower it. and never get under the car when it is held up by just a jack. Mechanical devices will fail. It is not a questions of if, its a question of when and "god I hope you are not under the car when that happens". I use cynder blocks with either 4X4 and/or 2x4 between the frame and the block to cushion the pressure.

PLEASE be very careful with cinder block! They also fail by means of cracking and self destructing without warning. I'm in the medical field and have personally encountered three unlucky victims of cinder block failure. One recovered with long term disability, the other two are no longer with us. Jack stands are $20/pair at your auto parts store. That's good that you're using wood to avoid point stressing the block but... I hope you see my point.
