So the stock engine covers don't look all that great. I was thinking about painting parts of them with a chrome like plastic paint. Something that will maybe reflect a little light giving it a chrome like appearance.

Anyone painted theirs or have any advice on the best way to go about this?

Well I want to keep them in there because my engine doesn't really look very cool, so I figured I'd spruce it up with some paint.

 

Plenty of people have done this and some are very nice. Search function should be able to find what you want. Go to advanced search, look for keywords PAINTED COVER, search titles only. This will pull up 7 threads devoted to the topic. Just the beginning, but a good place to start.
