p0562 Engine code need help fixing.
Ok I have had this car for a long time...never crashed.
First engine swap was dealership low compression. Car drove until 76k. then after swap to 83k. 2nd engine swap no start done at oj imports They put an engine in with rotors with over 100k on them for 3600...don't recommend. Engine broke down after 1000 miles. Car drove to 84k from 83k... Aem intake only 3rd swap was at petit. Car has driven to 92k. the drive from Florida put a good 1800 of that on. Now after petit I've done a lot of modifications but the car ran very rich the fuel pump didn't work correctly had to stay above half a tank nor did the radiator fans. Temps were still below from travel speed only hwy. Drove maybe...200 miles hwy in a years time. I have a random drop in power and it's more pronounced on cold starts engine code is p0562 and crankshaft position sensor

It has nothing to do with the sensor.
KAM = Keep Active Memory It’s simply the power wiring between the battery and the pcm with the Room Fuse between them. This is why the pcm clears when the room fuse is removed; the memory for codes, trims, etc. is wiped once power is lost. the usual suspects are going to be the battery, battery terminals, or battery ground connection, then the wiring. You might also inspect the pcm harness connector and terminals for possible corrosion or damage and then make sure it’s plugged in tightly. Turns out there is no continuity in 5j and some of the other pin connections on the harness. So the harness needs to be replaced. Im a little upset it had to be one of the most expensive parts but relieved I found the problem finally. Thanks for the help.

Ok replaced the harness and now it's not starting says immobilizer is on. Did the self check and the n_n_________ is what shows.
No communication with Pcm. Radio works lights turn on but doesn't turn or start. |
What do you mean by "immobilizer on"? The immobilizer is in the ECU, if it's not communicating, it won't even get to the immobilizer step.
Have you checked for power at the appropriate power pins in the ECU plug and at the OBD end? Does the dash light up at all? |

The car starts sounds like a lawnmower I replaced all of the fuses immobilizer is there but doesn't check for some reason the can system doesn't read Things not reported back were the Vin and can connections on the eugine software from adaptronic. Car wouldn't start at all with it and all connections from the software were reporting. contacted them and no response sent them my logs no response I've basically been ignored from their company I'm guessing. So I installed the old pcm back into the car reset everything back to its original state. Car fires up but it sounds like a lawnmower with smoke coming out of the back and smells like a lot of fuel being burnt. warranty on coils from bhr until 2024, new spark plugs ecc reset and clean. the car starts and dies if I'm not holding the gas. won't idle past 4k if I push the gas won't go above 4k. I removed the fuel pump fuse started the car rpm went to 9k in a second then I held the gas and the car died no fuel after a few seconds. still sounded like a lawnmower just not as bad. new fuel pump as well. And the code p0562 is back only code from months ago that disappeared. new engine harness new battery harness new battery. |
If it's not going over 4k, it might be in limp mode for the OMP. Some readers don't pick up the OMP codes because it's not in the standard set of OBD codes.
If it sounds like a lawnmower and pumping smoke and dying, your injector and or coil and spark plug connection could be miswired so they're firing out of time. Are the injectors original? It sounds like it ran very rich before you started having more major problems (from the original post) so can you recall what modifications were done before that started? |

Pulled the intake off checked the maf no oil, had white smoke so I only smelled fuel and pulled the cap for bubbles nothing. white smoke stops after a few seconds so no coolant seal or maybe its hairline and I just don't see it yet who knows. the hottest the car gets is 73 degrees f and 78 wot so no overheating issues I installed gauges directly in the lines. the front main seal is leaking going to replace that sometime in the next week if it's not to cold outside and lastly the weird thing on the map readings. I have another p0562 code and the map reads 0 g/s across the board. but it's voltage is around 6. I started unplugging things map ect started it and same g/s 0 but voltage was 22? |
I mean if your MAF isn't giving an airflow reading that's at least 1 problem. Also MAF signal is 1-5V so 6 and 22 aren't numbers you should ever see. Sounds like something is miswired or the MAF is destroyed. You can start and run the car with the MAF unplugged, but not really drive very well.
Was the harness you put in from the same year and trim? Also you didn't answer the questions above. |

Was the harness you put in from the same year and trim? Also you didn't answer the questions above. I got the harness from Atkins rotary called to double check compatibility 04-08 compared to the one I had looked exactly the same. The car ran normal but died before I got a new harness. P0562 and then no communication with pcm. New harness computer no communication. No start immobilizer pop up. new fuses pcm errored reset to factory. Car starts but sounds like a tractor dies if I let my foot off the pedal and doesn't start unless foot is on the pedal. So maf no air is my likely culprit I think. I bought a generic one from parts geek last time I replaced it 6 months ago kind of early to blow out I think. The old harness where the injector connection was melted one of them. |
