so im reading these articles and such from r&t...c&d etc etc. looks like the 8 has some room for suspension stiffening. for instance r&t mentioned that the 8 had more roll than the rx-7, which is fine, even if it has a stiffer chassis.
i'm curious if the potential for teeth shattering / hi, i'm a rolling chocolate milk commercial / the bolts-holding-my-renesis-together-are-coming-loose stiffness. so...maybe a bigger strut bar up front and sway bar in back? anyone have any experience usin a sway bar on rear multilink suspension or does that not even matter?

p.s. btw, im not aiming for super stiff, but im thinking '93 r1 stiffness is more me than supple / comfy ride.

I think what you will need on this car (should you want to) is stiffer anti-roll bars.

Aside from that from what I've read... the suspension is dead on and better than the RX-7s.

The car actually looks a little "lifted" to me.

I would like to lower mine an inch or so but only when a company releases a quality spring/shock combination that is worth it.

I don't just buy lowering springs anymore. For me it has to be a well-tuned spring/shock combination, or I keep it stock.

And I will probably just keep it stock. I remeber the bone-crushing race suspension offered in the last generation RX-7. Brutal.

nm just saw the word Tein on the springs.:o

I heard Teins are just too expensive for the type of handling it gives.

Most Tein HAs have helper springs, but if it's not, it's one of their other combos that's close.

In my personal experience, Teins are well worth their cost. They will be the first choice in the next car I modify the suspension on (before basic springs and shocks).

That is the Tein SS or Super Street. It does not come with a helper spring. I got a good deal on a barely used set of Tein HA's with stock Honda upper pillow ball mounts for $1000 Cnd :D Can't wait to put them on.

Yes Teins are adjustable for height and dampening. My set will have spring rates of 671 front and 448 rear! :eek: I might have to drive around with a mouth guard.. :D

Tein's are the best but new you're looking at $2000+!!! Personally I think they're overkill...at least for me...I'd rather pick up a good set of springs and struts...springs ~$300 and struts ~$300-500.

$2000 US? I think that depends on which model of coilover and which car it's for? For the Prelude the Canadian HA price is about $2000 or about $1400 US.
Yes I do agree for most folks Teins are overkill but I do auto-x and do lapping days.

You can normally get Tein HAs for less than $1500 US. As for overkill, that depends on how serious you are about putting together a suspension, and what else you are modifying.
