North Houston Rotary Mechanic

Hi all, I just bought an RX-8 and was told I make sure to get a mechanic that is good with working on rotary engines, I live just North of Houston, Texas. Anyone live around Houston that has one they could recommend?

I'm in North Houston as well, but I don't know of any mechanics nearby except for the dealer. Are you having any issues in particular or you just want a checkup?

Well I just bought the car a few days ago, it has 68k miles on it and I dont know the maintinence history. So, I was wanting to do a tune up. Coil, wires, plugs, and such.

You should definitely think of doing those yourself. They really are very easy to do and you will end up saving a ton of money by doing them yourself. There are some very good DIY threads on each thing so even a person who isn't very mechanically inclined should be able to do it.

If you are dead set on having someone else do it then here is a thread on rx7club about rotary mechanics near houston or some just in texas. Rotary Mechanics Around Houston? - RX7Club.com You don't really *need* a rotary mechanic to change what you are asking, but I understand not wanting to take it to some random shop.
