Worry not TeamRX8, I got his back.
Step one) Purchase New upgraded starter motor. Step Two) Disconnect battery. Step three) Jack up the left front side of your car. Make sure to place a jack stand. Step four) locate starter Step five) Disconnect the two wires attached to the starter, one is a clip, and one is hiding under a plastic hood type thing. Step six) unbolt starter from tranny by first unbolting the lower bolt, and then the upper bolt, the latter of which will be harder to reach Step six *note: If the upper bolt appears to be spinning freely, It probably is because it goes all the way through the transmission to the other side. Hold the other end of the bolt somehow until it is completely unscrewed. Step Seven) Remove old starter. Step eight) Install new starter following these instructions backward. Step Nine) Weep slightly as it dawns on you that you may need to replace your engine. Congrats your done! |

google "site:rx8club.com hot starting"

Check the compression before spending money on the starter. A strong engine with a weak starter will always start.
