NEW owner NEED HELP ASAP

I just got an 04 at the around July I kinda got cheated by the previous owner but it's my own fault. Im young made a dumb mistake but Long story short it's been totaled out before and currently has a salvage title, he gave me the cars original title instead of the current salvage so I didn't know

. But it drives decent just got a tune up which was freaking ridiculous for stuff you can do yourself, and a cold air but I think it has definitely lost some power it's hard to get over 90 mph and weak starter. I'm pretty desperate to KEEP THIS CAR RUNNING AS GOOD AS POSSILE I love the car even in a not so great condition any help would be really appreciated

This might not be the right place for this post apologiz for that but need help

Almost the right place. General Topics...RX-8 Discussion would have been better.

But go to that forum and read the "New and potential owners..." sticky at the top. That will get you started.

Then spend enough time browsing/searching this site to learn more, and to get a feel for which members know what they're talking about. That will help a lot when you get conflicting answers to specific questions.

I assume you've pursued whatever you can about having been swindled on the title, and are now committed to keeping the car. You might invest in a compression test to see if the engine is solid enough to work with. Find a good Mazda dealer to do the test. If it comes out low, check with them to see if the 8 year 100K engine core warranty is still in effect. If it comes out good, come back here for advice on the various things besides ignition that could be the problem.

you have a salvage title so you pretty much lost all warranty on the car (including the 100K engine warranty)

so ... follow Ken's advise. if u have any specific question u can pm me.
