Need Diagnosis
I get this clicking noise when making right hand turns.
This worries me because I had hit slid on ice one day and hit a curb. I had to have the tie rod replaced on the drivers side. The shop told me everthing else was fine. Just in the last couple months hae I noticed this noise, but it started as a squeek and now is a clicking The probelm is I can't figure out what it is. i think it's hard to judge since it only happens when allthe pressure is on the left front tire. ie making a right hand turn. Perhaps someone could suggest something, and mabe a way to test it also? I might take it to have it looked at, but I now they are going to try to charge me. Oh and I have a warped rotor up front. I think it's the front left also. Could this be warped because of this other problem? or is there another problem because of the shaking of the front end? fyi I have two rotors on way to my house as we speak. So those will be replaced. Thanks in advance guys! ________ Vapormatic deluxe instructions |
Check out the TSBs, there is one related to a "snapping noise" during turns. Since you're replacing the rotors, make sure to torque the lug nuts to the specification in that TSB - 108 lb-ft I believe. If that doesn't help I would probaby suspect the wheel bearing or spindle. When you say it started as a squeak, do you mean a continuous squeak, or the same pattern as the clicking? I mean, when you made a right turn did it go "squeak squeak squeak....." or just "Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....."?

It was very similiar to the clicking, but as a squeek. That's a good suggestion about the bearings. That would make since seeingas how the warped rotor could have caused that. I'll check that stuff, and see where I am from there thanks.
