My dealer yanked out my PCM out of my 8 today...
...because it blew a CEL and was causing extremely low idle and occassional stalling when in neutral.
Apparently my dealer can't reset it and had to overnight it to Mazda headquarters to redo it and will then will send it back for my dealer to install it back in my car. I'm without the 8 until AT LEAST Friday, and am currently driving a loaner Chevy Aveo (ugh!).
anyone else have this?

It has not happened to me, but my last visit to the dealership in December, they had their 1st instance of this.
Whatever the code was, it caused the dealership to call Mazda Support, which in turn told them to Fed Ex the ECM to MNAO in CA for 'reprogramming'.

Wow. That sucks.
My dealer lets me pick what car I want. First time I picked an Altima. This last week I picked an Acura TL. The dealership owns Mazda, Acura, Ford, and a few others, so I can pick from a lot of models..

Mugatu, learn to use the search button! There's like FIVE other threads on this already!!
Just messin' with ya bro...
Bummer about them having to send it all the way back to MNAO. Wonder what they heck is wrong with it.
Any chance of getting your car hooked up to a scanner when you get it back?

next they are going to take the whole car for a week to put hidden sensors on the stock intake, exhaust, wheels, and on the body since they know you're very likely to swap these parts out for that rice or JDM look.

Whatever happened with this?
Did the Aveo ever get rotary powered? Did you mod the Aveo to be the first over 200 hp, the first one to weigh more than 150 lbs or the first one to break into the low 20's?
