Muffler ground????
Why is there a ground wire on the muffler? It's on the driver's side rear of the muffler and attaches to the chassis.
More of an alternator noise thingy? |
Number of reasons.
First, grounding the muffler actually helps prevent corrosion. I can't remember all the specifics with why, but I know it does. Second, it helps ground the oxygen sensor, giving a better and more accurate reading. 2nd and 3rd gen RX-7's also had a ground strap to the exhaust, BTW. Dale |
Thanks for the excellent info! You just dont' see that on many cars!!
