MT vs. AT Motor Mounts
Are these interchangeable?
I'm getting a lot of vibration and my car's out of warranty so I'm going to swap new mounts in myself. I've come across a few sets of AT mounts for cheap. I have a MT though. |
There are different part numbers between the MT's and AT's. Go to www.finishlineperformance.com thats were i got mine from

But are they interchangeable?

Did you ever get an answer elsewhere to this question. I would like to know if the mounts are the same physically and can work, not if the part numbers are different. I have the reverse scenario, i have an auto and only getting through to manual mounts. Are they interchangeable ?

As far as physically the same, I believe they use different compounds, however other than that it’s virtually the same product. Yes they are interchangeable, however I doubt it’s worth that price considering you sacrifice some usability in compounds(if they happen to have a different compound) again physically identical. Hope this answers your question as well as anyone else who may be curious

I know I'm a month something late but ...
just for the future reference. No they are different AT is extremely soft at the middle, because there is no rubber inside the center of the mount MT version does you can tell right away when you feel them side by side. when you put MT mount into a AT car, you will feel a lot more vibration. when you put AT mount into MT car, well, it feels like your mount is about to fail (but you know it's brand new), when you shift and floor the car, you can see the stick moves backward by naked eye |
