Typical bolt ons such as a Intake & Exhaust can run you over $1,000 and yield maybe 10HP. What is your budget and what do you hope to achieve? Dusting Mustangs at stop likes is going to cost over $5,000 provide they have zero mods.

MT or AT?

What is your budget?

And your compression numbers are?

:dunno:

As 2004 RX-8's sink further below $10,000 post like this will be a almost daily occurrence.

This same question has been answered probably twice this week alone. Try searching general discussion. ---------------TONS OF POSTS------------------- Good luck with your new ride and read the owners manual ASAP.

As mentioned above, there aren't any easy significant upgrades that can be made to the RX-8. Replacing the cat with a mid-pipe is the best bang for the buck option.

Bingo. It's just getting silly here now. Perhaps time to move on ....

Tuning using Cobb AP ($575), new intake (< $400), upgraded coils and wires ($200-500, depending on what you get), light weight pulleys ($225), light weight flywheel ($250-400), new exhaust system ($1000+).

Beyond that, you'd be talking about adding a turbo or supercharger, but that gets expensive quick.

The other options include porting... but that's a whole other topic (and a lot more money).

So what is your guess on that $3K+labor will give you in HP gains? Mostly in the high RPM range I would think.

I keep on starting to reply. Then I stop, because what I thought was witty is just lame.

So I will just avoid posting a response. I doubt he will be back anyway.
