Missing Part?
I just took my plastic engine cover off for the first time to check my oil and I noticed I only have one "rubber piece" on the left side of the cover. Should this "washer" be on both sides? I assume so...
Please advise. Thanks, RKM |
Yes it should. I believe there is a TSB on this issue, see top of thread.

Yeah, I am missing one too. But after going to three different dealers before I got one that didn't look at me like an idoit when I asked for a reflash, I quit trying. Oh, I did finaly get the "M" flash, but they all told me that neat little rubber gromet was backordered. Last Time I tried was about three months ago. Maybe they're in now, but I would call first.

My car was missing that gromet the day I drove it off the lot. I brought a copy of the tsb with me when I went back and the dealer replaced it - no problems. I really think they just took one off a car on the lot and stuck it on mine...really doesn't matter to me other then the fact that they didn't update it with the newer - redesigned one that won't fall out.

Same thing happened to me the first time I took my cover off, the rubber washer had actually fallen off and was just down a little bit, I was able to see it and slide it back into place. Look down in the engine compartment near where it should be, might still be there. Just an idea
