mazmart water pump/therm
so my car has been at the dealer for the past coupe of weeks getting a new engine, i have brought them the mazmart water pump and thermastat along with a new clutch and flywheel..... today i get the car back get home, look into the box of used parts ans see my NEW MAZMART WATERPUMP AND THERMASTA!!!! i call mazda back and ask them why they didnt put in the new parts like i had told them to???!! the man tells me that my new engine came with a new water pump and thermast. i told him that this is the upgrade one that i wanted to be in there because the stock 05 is a old design and that is why they upgraded them in the newer series?! he continuded to tell me that the new whaterpump that was installed is from the newer series witch do look about the same the mazmart one that i had given them and told me that i should return it to save some money?
so i need a little help and advice.... is the series2 water pump the same as the mazmart? or should i put the mazmart one in along with the mazmart thermastat? the car only gets driven in the summer(im in MN) and i do plan on making it to the track a few times this summer, witch is why i got the mazmart whater pump and thermastat in the 1st place. what not aware that they where going to give me a new one!! thanks |
By looking at pictures on the Mazmart website the S2 water pump looks different than the RE-medy pump for the S1.

The Series 2 water pump should not physically fit onto a Series 1 engine. Unless they replaced your engine with a Series 2. That would be awesome.

Without replacing the PCM, I don't see how they could put a S2 engine in, since the S2 engine has completely different MOPs (two unlike the one in the S1).

They can't (well won't), it would require many things to be swapped and installed. ECU, gauge cluster, etc., etc., etc. |
so i should take it apart and see what kind of pump i really have? and most likely its just the stock one you guys are thinking?

Likely the stock pump...but I think they upgraded the impellers on the recent pumps....Pull it and take a picture so we can see what they look like :)
