Mazda giving me free engine but ????
 

I had hot start issues with my car and now mazda do the compression test and I will get new engine. They also saying that technician recommended oil filter relocation with ventilation for 450$??? They thing engine failure was because of the oil condensation ??
Is it necessary?? I was on the forum more often before but now for the last 2 years I have no time anymore so Iam not sure if there is any news later about it. What I remember there was some TSB for milky oil on oil dipstick when checking the oil level and IS that what they are trying to sell me?? My car is 2005 model bought new January 2006. Sounds like a bill expander to me :)

The condensation fix for the 04's and early 05's was a redone upper intake manifold and breather alterations...not an oil filter relocation

I dont want another engine failure and I can redo upper manifold myself but it will make any changes to engine life? I had only 47k on the old engine premix since 30k

There are no promises with engine life, but I don't see how oil condensation would cause compression loss. Corrosion and other long-term stuff - sure. Compression? I'd like to see the dealer explain that one.

Also oil filter relocation? To where? Never heard of this as a standard Mazda procedure.

well, it's really the side seal spring that's the problem. starting 2008 a new updated pressure spring came out with different paint code (pink vs old blue), when u compare both side by side, the pressure on the new spring seems a lot stronger.

how long will it last? dunno, but at least u know Mazda knew what the problem was.

its probably oil FILLER not filter.

there is a kit to update the early cars to the 2007 style ventilation system, which is a new oil FILLER assembly, and some other hoses and junk, and its in that price range.

i wouldn't buy it, unless they can show you the oil filter

So it looks like my reman engine will have new updated spring. Make me feel a bit better.
And I am not taking anything from dealer suggestions :). I will put that money towards remedy pump.
