MAJOR electrical problem please help.

Okay, well I purchased a radar detector hardwire kit off of ebay and the instructions said to T-Tap a fuse wire with the hardwire kit. I did that, found a ground and connected it to my radar detector....once I did that, my speakers made a noise and now no sound will play from my radio. The radio turns on fine but no music...also when i turn the key to the ON position(not start) all of the lights start flickering like crazy. I freaked out and immediately removed the hardwire kit...and I still have the same problem. Please help guys..I don't know what to do.

this is why when you dont know what you're doing, leave it to professionals.

it sounds like you short something and ruin it. hmm.

for the Ground, you ALWAYS ground it to the body.

and for power, you should always get your power from the Aux Power. not anywhere else.

Anyway, without seeing what you did, its really hard to tell.

Lets start with the ground. The RX-8 has many grounds. Where did you ground it to?
Grounds should not tuch paint. It should tuch the metal.

sounds like you grounded an accessory circuit, check your fuses near the drivers footwell , replace any blown, tape up the wire you t-spliced, redo the right way

En the lights flicker do you hear a clicking sound aswell?

your right but it seemed to be easy...i didnt think it would cause major issues
Alright for the ground i connected it to a bolt under the footwell. It was touching bare metal. I checked alll the fuses and they seem okay, and taped up the wire but the same problem is still occuring...as for the clicking sound i will have to get back to you on tht one.

It must be a shitty ground. Try another one. Trust me I know. I had a bad ground in my trunk and had to keep trying till I found a good one. Do that same and if you can, scann the directions and post them so we can go over it with you and help. Sometimes 2 heads are better that one lol

Im not even concerned about hardwiring my radar detector anymore... I just to sound to come out of my speakers again and stop the flickering lights...

Take it to a audio shop or the dealer.
