Lubricating the slave cylinder rod/clutch fork
It may be on this website somewhere but I haven't found it yet, and I've searched.
What's the proper way to lubricate the slave cylinder? I've been under my car but it looks like the slave cylinder is on the top of the transmission. Are you just supposed to spray behind the oil filter blindly and hope some of it gets to the right place? Can you even lube the slave cylinder without unbolting it from the transmission? I'm trying to get rid of this persistent squeak in my clutch pedal that has been around forever. It's not the clutch pedal because it's brand new, and it goes away temporarily when my mechanic has lubed the clutch fork in the past so I'm guessing that's the source. I'd just like to get rid of it once and for all, and hopefully with minimal effort. |
you should be able to reach the slave/clutch fork pivot, although it might be easier to unbolt the slave.

You should be able to get some white lithium grease spray on it from below fairly easily :)

^ This. Easiest way is to wear latex gloves, get a chunk of lithium crease on your finger, go under and rub that fucker in like you're giving a prostate exam.
