Lost Pinch Weld Adapter for floor jack, how to jack each corner individually?
So I lost the pinch weld adapter that I would normally use for my floor jack, I would buy a new one but it takes 2-3 weeks for it to come in and I'm going in a road trip before then.
I've been spoiled by this thing as I've used the factory scissor jack points to jack up the car. I know you can lift up the rear ends and the front ends individually using the rear diff and the front jack point behind the bumper under tray. But I want to jack each corner up individually using my floor jack, where would I jack up the car so I won't damage the underbody? Thanks |
Same place. Take a 2x4, cut a small block, about 3" square, and saw/cut a slot in it across the grain about 3/8" deep by 1/2" wide. Put the block on the floor jack pad with the slot up and use the recommended jacking points at each "corner" of the car.

Yeah, you can make 4 of them and use jackstands at all four corners when you need to do major work on the car.

at the same spots; it's a $25k car that loses 40% of it's value immediately, not a $1Million show car ...
