Loss of power ?
I noticed that when i floor my pedal from stop the car pulls fine all the way up, but at exactly, and between, 6K rpms and 6.5K rpms my car lets off a little, then the torque seems to kick back in at 6.5K and higher is this normal?
|
I would'nt know because I never feel any torque, but it always revs smoothly.
|
hmmm must be normal

You might be feeling the different intake ports opening but i am not sure. I think the intake tracts become shorter at 6275 rpm's

Flash me....
Sounds like you don't have the latest "flash" for the computer, it evens it out a lot.

Maybe thats it I don't know if I got that flash

What StealthTL said. When was the last time you had your 8 in for service?
|
two weeks ago

should also have a "little hesitation" at 7300k. if you feel that at 6k or 7.3k and you DONT feel a tad bit more power right afterward--check your plugs and coils\

Its normal, there's a bit of power dip somewhere around that rpm, lean mixture maybe. Just make sure its not totally power loss at that rpm and above, otherwise it could be a dead cat.
|
def no total power loss just hesitation or seems to level out at 6K then climbs harder at 6.5K and up

by the way I heard some people say that it's not safe to do high shifts out of 1st gear, what rpm would be considered to high to shift out of and can you cruise in first gear at high rpms?
|
Yes you can drive in high rpms in 1st gear but not advisable since the engine is working hard but little air flow to the cooler and radiator. Secondly there's no point besides creating lots of noise and heat in the tranny as well. And yes its ok to shift out of 1st in high rpm but to shift into 2nd gear requires a lot of practice, I had the car for almost 6 months but I still can't manage a fast and smooth 1st 2nd shift.
