MAZDA reman' warranty is 12 months/12,000 miles, which ever comes first. I bet you haven't replaced neither the spark plugs nor the ignition coils since you got your remanufactured engine

I've had my 8 since 05 I've always do plugs (ngk) and wires are as well ngk 8.5mm I think and coils but high revs the engine tone changes you can hear the knocking. I don't have a code so all I can think of is the engine blown internally

i was just going to say, verify the SSV by wiring it open and see if the flutter goes away.

the sound it makes is quite noticable if you have a CAI versus the stock airbox. need to have the whole intake system cleaned, which goes to show that the dealer just put it back on filthy... this is one reason why replacement engines don't last very long.

which also reminds me that i have to clean my intake out as well, i'm sure it's quite nasty looking at 83k original miles.

I would've told you to run 91-93 octane if you complained to me about knock... I'm struggling with the leap between it and stuck SSV, but whatever.

I did I ran 93 for about 3 full tanks and added seafoam but no luck. the ssv was pretty easy and the 8 gets better mpg and runs alot better however I never had the upgraded ssv put in
