JB weld for preventative reinforcement on clutch pedal bracket

Just throwing this out there as a thought: do you guys think JB weld would make for a suitable preventative reinforcement of the clutch pedal bracket? Not repairing a clutch that is already broken, just reinforcing one that isn't yet broken.

My understanding is that it is about 65% of the tensile strength of filler metal (welds). I have used it before when porting motorcycle engines, to provide reinforcement on the case where the porting had made the walls thin. That always worked very well for me (and many others). But I realize the clutch pedal is under a lot of torsional force and many frequent cycles.

I could of course bring it to a welder, just curious what others think of this very cheap alternative.

I doubt that would do shit, if you are going to pull it then get it welded.

jb weld isnt' that cheap comopared to a welder. You'd probably pay 30 bucks to get it welded well. The proce of a tow if it doesn't work will be a lot more.

I went one better and just bought a welder so I can do it myself. Going to practice over this and next weekend on various gauge materials and have a go.

BHR resonator looks interesting now too...

Just get it welded, please.

Per my last post I'm welding it

yes, and I said get it welded please. If you want to learn how to weld thats great. But if you rolled over to harbor freight and got a stick welder you are going to have hard time.

Furthermore why would you go and buy a welder when this should only cost you $20 at an exhaust shop.

I never mentioned anything about harbor freight?

As for why I'd buy a welder, it is so I can weld things in perpetuity...didn't just buy it for the clutch pedal bracket...

This ok with you? If not I can return it ASAP.
