Iridium plugs - lower cost?

***** Note: See the next post from Mr. Hill below. This post should serve as a reminder that these plugs DO NOT fit in the RX8 *****

I admit I'm lazy. I haven't searched the forum to see if this has been covered before. But in my defense, I no longer own an '8 and am posting this out of fondness toward you lot.

I just bought some spark plugs at NAPA for my wife's 98 Corvette and paid about $8 each for them. Much to my surprise, these ACDelco plugs state on the box that they're iridium.

As many of you may be aware, the '8 requires iridium plugs. And when I bought some for my '8, I recall them costing close to $20 apiece.

Naturally, the prices may have come down in the past couple of years.

Anyway, I've got no idea if these ACDelco units fit the '8. Maybe someone can buy one and compare it to the NGK's.

ACDelco p/n = 41-985 (on the box) Another p/n on the plug = 12571164.

I hope this tip works out.

Cheers,

- Eric

The Corvette application is a tapered-seat plug and it will not work on the 8. Thx for the thought just the same though.
