I'm lost

Hey fellow rotorheads,

i recently installed a custom built performance exhaust onto my 8. The problem is that she now drinks a little more and hasn't recently increased in any power whatsoever.

I've just called a mazda service workshop and they say that if a mazdaspeed exhaust is fitted to the car that nothing needs to be changed with regards to the air fuel mixture.

So now what do i do ? pray tell! do i invest in an ecu ? do i leave her alone? please anyone who is in the know how i'd much appreciate the advise!!!

its a very easy idea. since you have a aftermarket exhaust, it lets the burnt air and fuel out faster from the engine. so that means freash air and fuel can be sucked into the engine quicker. your ecu will make the proper adjustments on this small mod. you dont really see any more power from the car with a exhaust, it is very small, so is the gas consumption, but you tend to see that, since gas=$$$$$

leave it alone, its all fine!!! all you really get is sound:ylsuper:

Go to RacingBeat.com and read about some of the very limited HP improvements they have seen in the RX-8 with aftermarket intake and exhaust components. Basically, short of FI, there ain't much to be gained in the HP department. Now if you are looking for bling and maybe a bit more sound, then your money is well spent. Otherwise, you wasted your money if you expected to get noticable improvements in HP.
