Identify please...
OK. So, I opened the trunk of my 8 and noted that the wires from the left-side of the lid was broken: 1 out of 2. Anybody know what this wire is for and should I be concerned? If you open your trunk up, on the left-hand side, there is a set of wires surrounded by some plastic shield that goes to the left rear light. How the heck it became broken, is beyond me, but if it isn't anything important, I'll just ignore it. Otherwise, is this something you can repair yourself or have to take into Mazda stealership? Thanks in advance!!

Wires for the taillight in the trunk lid. I had the same thing happen to mine. Just wound them with electrical tape and it works fine.

It's for the third brake light I suppose.
You should be able to repair it without an issue. |
Unfortunately, one of the wires is already torn. The other one is hanging by a thread and will likely break. I'll put some electric tape on it, but don't see how you can repair this without getting new wires and then disassemble the whole trunk to put it in place :p

Liner pops off quite clean, then rewire...
