Guys i want to change my Rx-8 Engine....I dont want to use Rotary anymore...I want to put something else ...so i want you guys support which engine will be good for 2004 Rx-8 Type E....I want 190BHP atleast...so guys suggest me a good engine expect this rotary plz....

Guys the main problem is The rotary engine is not available in our country.....and i love this car so i dnt want to sell it.....i just want to change the engine....if i want to bring the rotary engine from another country then it will cost alsmost USD$7000 ....so its really expensive....:(...i just want you guys help to try out something new in Rx-8 :(...

The "based" 6-port manual is claimed somewhere around 228-232 bhp last I recall.

You better look at used parts then for an engine because generally speaking you're talking a tranny swap, engine swap, ECU swap, motor mount swap, intake swap, exhaust swap and a lot of moving stuff around in the engine bay. That will run you up far more than the cost to get another renesis.

Where are you from? What's your current problem? What's your car mileage?
You can get a shipped rotary engine for way less than what you steted. You simply have to know where :)

You must have the AT 4-port then for just 190 bhp. What you should care about is whp, what you're REALLY making at the wheels. IF you want more power, get a turbo or supercharger and get it tuned.

There's a guy who swapped for an LS1. He had to do some maufactoring of parts and as of last, I don't believe he had his gauges working yet. Search and you will find him easily. He has a video on youtube.

Oh, and if you just wasted my time trolling, then suck it sideways.

I would suggest using whale oil, it is hands down the best thing for a rotary.

To main the engine i would suggest first before last.

Olive Oil is fine, make sure you buy Extra Virgin tho.

to main the engine, you first need to break it. Take the biggest Sledge Hammer you can find and hit your hood with it.

Oh, and you can't main the engine until you've squiggled the crumpenflump.

I'll sell you a 1.0L 3 cylinder motor from a '90 metro for $2000 USD. It makes 300bhp. How about that?

@zafar, we can't really answer your question because we don't know:

1. How you want the engine to behave like, e.g big displacement n/a, to be turbo'd, etc
2. How much does it cost for you to install one of those engine that you want from (1)?
3. How much is your budget?
4. Do you know anyone who can rebuild ur engine locally, is it cheaper than (2)?

buy a car with a different engine then

put in a bmw straight six. or a nissan straight six. or their vq35/37.

any engine swap can be done with enough money.

$7000 is a lot. you cant buy one from here and have it shipped?

and only the low power, 4 port engines have 190 BHP. the high power 6 port engines have 220-230BHP.

PLEASE NOTE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BRAKE HORSEPOWER AND WHEEL HORSEPOWER.

average rx8 with 6 port engine has 185whp. thats 220bhp.

That kind of depends on whether you have a Renesis or if you swapped it for something else.

Swap everything!? Why not get an engine that has all of that? When you take the engine out, take the ECU, Motormounts, intake, exhaust manifold. It only needs to be facing the same direction. But the closest thing to an RX-8 is the NC Miata, everything else is custom. The NC shares a tranny and Mazda components but it doesn't have 190BHP.

It doesn't help when we don't know what country you're in Zafar.
