I don't believe this.....

Well.........I order some PIAA LED's to replace my running lights with and went to change them today. While changing the drivers side light, I ran into a 'problem'. While replacing the socket, I had to pull it back out to reposition it and while doing so, the bulb fell out and is now on the bottom of my running light! #%@!&#
How in the world do I get it out?!?!?!?!?! There is no way to easily get to it. I think I'll have to remove the entire headlamp assembly.......how in the world do you do that?
Any other ideas?

THANKS

oh this has happened before. so do be too hard on yourself;). go to an autoparts store and get yourself one of those extendable rods witha magnet on the end. mechanics use them to fish bolts/nuts out of hard to reach places. you should be able to get a hol dof the metal socket end of the bulb and get it out. they also have these long flexible ones witha plunger type thing that opens and closes little claws at one end.

Thanks for the quick response zoom44.

I'll try the flexible magnet idea......I only wonder if there is 'enough' metal on the bulb for the magnet to 'hold it'. I already tried wrapping a narrow screwdriver with duct tape (sticky side out) but I couldn't get it all the way in to the area where the bulb is (as you probably know, it isn't getting to these things!)
If that doesn't work, I guess it would give me a good reason to hurry up and order the RB Oil Cooler screens as I'll have to take off the bumper to put those on and that should give me easy access to the running light assembly, right?

oh if your getting the oil cooler screens you might as well get the revi intake too while you are planning to have the bumper off;)

I taped a 3 foot piece of 1" rubber hose to my shop vac (suction side) and sucked that lil' sucker out... :)

If your getting the oil screens and revi intake and removing the bumper you might as well get the Greddy turbo and put that in, :) , well it actually won't work with the revi so don't get the intake.

I almost had my bulb fall down too. But I was super careful when replacing it. All the above ideas sound good.

LOL on the Greddy!
I'm thinking about the REVI but right now, $300 seems like an awful alot for 2-3hp!

Hey - I GOT IT OUT! I went to Murrays and bought one of those flexible claw thingy's. It took about 15 minutes as the opening is very small and the bulb has to be positioned just the right way to come back through the hole.
Anyways, I installed both PIAA LED's in my running lights (the passenger side is a real pain). Just as my luck has it, they are too damn blue! I bought the PIAA Super LED Quattro Xtreme's hoping they would match my OEM HID headlamps....like I said, they are pretty blue. Oh well, I'm going to wait to change them to 'something else' once my RB Oil Cooler screens come and I take off the bumper.
