How much do dealers charge for tran and diff fluid change?

I am gonna change the tran and diff fluid to redline, so how much do the dealer charge? And also wanna confirm that redline mt-90 for tran and 75w90 for diff? and how much should I buy for each and bring to the dealer, thx a lot and looking for smoother shifting!!!

2qts of redline 75w90 gear oil and 2qts of redline mt-90 ran me about ~40 shipped.

dealerships charge too much and they're also likely to screw up, horror stories abound here though it's hard to believe as basic of a service as it is and supposedly trained wrench monkeys ...

take it to a good lube or repair shop instead

Just did my trans with Royal Purple, it's $14 at my local NAPA and so far worth it's weight in gold. Ive always used RP but you are entitled to use whatever you please if decide to DIY.

I checked with a local dealer here and they quoted me 179.99 for both tran and diff (I bring my own redline oil) change which i think is overpriced even for a dealer!!! Another thing is that the tech told me the diff should use 80W90 instead of the 75W90 redline I talked about?!! Anyway, I am think about bringing it to local mech, but also afraid that they don't know much about the 8 and may cause harm or flood it since it's a small town and the local mach are ...

They are crazy. I just got my shipment of fluids, and I'm putting it in hopefully Saturday (if it's not pouring with rain or too cold outside!). I'll tell you how it went.

Let us know in 2 years if your transmission needs to be replaced.

Me !

My tranny still works :P, but some users (for example, Expo1) have been using MT-90 all he way for over 110K miles and his tranny still works.

I have RP about 35K miles, 2+ yrs, it still works but, I've been having some *unsual* noise coming from my tranny. so ..

Stay away from GL4/5 Tranny fluid. Use pure GL4 if u want to have long tranny life.

Yeah I know I know, I suppose to change my tranny fluid yesterday to pure MT-90, but didnt have enough time (did the cleaning, change coils, swap all tires)

Tomorrow Im gonna wake up early, to do the tranny fluid change + put all Autoexe underbrace in :)

I only used RP in my KA-T S14, for trans and the engine oil. I don't want to start a pissing contest with anyone, though the Aisin feels..... fragile. Failure would not be a result of RP but the weak nature of the transmission itself.
