How to adjust the e-brake?
My emergency brake doesn't engage the rear wheels, seems like the cable is too loose. Anybody knows how to adjust it? Trying to avoid a trip to the dealer... but if I need to get under the car, I have no choice...

No need to get under the car. Slide the console lid back, then remove the semi-circular cover up front near the console catch. You will now have access to the adjustment nut.

hey Gomez I haven't seen you around here...been to Frasier Island lately?
to add to the great advice Gomez wrote check out: http://whatsmyip.macfixer.net/ipodrx8/1.php complete this page and the next two...then pop out the semi-circular cover/plug. Now you have access to switch for the E-brake too. good luck |
Got it, thank you guys. This great bboard was an important part of me getting the RX-8.

or instead of risking anything couldnt you have taken it to the dealer and gotten a free carwash too it should be under warranty right?
|
I'm the only 8 owner at my dealership who asks that the car NOT be carwashed...they laugh everytime saying lots of people bring their car in and demand that they get the free one
I told them...the only person that washes my baby is me...are you saying you would let a stranger wash your baby? thats just wrong |
They don't get to wash mine either!
|
What the heck ? Is a free wash supposed to be allowed?
|
my dealership has been giving free car washes with any services for years
|
must be nice.

Oh, no need to drive 20 miles one way for a free car wash :) Plus, I like washing the car myself at those self-serve car washes.
As for the e-brake, I adjusted as suggested few days ago already, thanks for all input. |
