Help Rebulding Greddy T618Z Turbo

I need to have my turbo rebuilt. I have some questions if anyone knows anything. First off is it really a pain to do? If I do not do it myself, I live in FL does anyone know where I could send it to be rebuilt cheaper than Greddy? Also, is there a better even chaper way to go than rebuilding this turbo. I have researched some flaws with is design and the up grade kit is a sick 1900 which is not in the budget.

Thanks guys

How much does Greddy charge? If it is a journal bearing turbo send it to these guys.

Give Elliot a call at Turblown, he is very knowledgeable with turbo upgrades/options.

Thanks greddy wants 700. But my big question is all turbo have gone to ball bearing internals and I and to see if I can convert this one as well. This turbo was not designed well.

What is wrong with the turbo that is requires a rebuild? It would take a LOT of money to covert it to BB, not really a feasible option. If the core is in good shape we charge $300 + return freight..

isnt the rebuild kit 60 bucks on ebay?

How long did you get on the turbo ? The right sized restrictor makes a big difference

I'm at 22,000 miles and running strong

The turbo has less then 10k miles on, actually we started to pull it out today, but got hung up on the 4 bolts from turbo to the manifold..

We sprayed them well with pb blaster, well let it sit over night and try again i the morning. But other then that is should drop down. Charles i talked to you and got "restricted ordered" .062.

I figured since we were doing this and oil has allready gone into the turbo we might as well pull it out to double check everything. At least get it cleaned out if checks out ok. why do a job again right?

If we cant get the bolts from turbo to manifold off, is there another way to drop it at once, with it all together? doesnt look promising..
