help?! power loss possible.

hi guys, i dont post too too much and im not a mechanic so try to go a lil easy on me. here is my dilemma, i feel like after 10 mins or so of normal driving, i lose a lil pep in my step on the accelerator. il do a WOT during the first few minutes of driving and it seems like a pretty normal acceleration. then it seems like almost everytime 10-15 mins into driving i lose some pull power in the butt dyno, and i know it sounds silly but could it be the CAT getting hot, the only reason i say this is because it almost sounds like i hear a faint rattling or crackling going on underneath me when i accelerate.

any help is much appreciated, and i thank you in advance for any response.

if there is not enough info for a diagnosis just let me know if there is anything else i should try and listen for or anything...im almost to my 60,000 mile warranty mark so i have about 700 miles to try and figure it out

more than likely it's just your butt dyno. and you should let the car warm up all the way before WOT.

the faint sound you hear underneath you is your transmission.

i always give the car a warm up of 5 minutes before work, im use to the warm up time, coming from a turbo car its just habit. i dont abuse the car at all, i just noticed this problem about a week ago, just had plugs changed and tranny fluid and oil changed. seems like i lose a lil tho.
why would the tranny be making noise? it doesnt make it during the first few minutes of driving...

thanks for the input myriad

my transmission only makes noise when moving suddenly, but i blame that on the rebuild...the first rebuild fine, engine swap a weird scratching noise in gear second transmission rebuild scratch gone just realy noisy now

"il do a WOT during the first few minutes of driving "

Your car actually takes longer than 5 minutes till fully warm, more like 15 minutes....at least.

You are not hearing "noises" in your transmission because it is still cold more than likely, when gears, bearings and oil gets hot they expand....like any machine, motor, engine.

No Problemo Scott,

And yes the PCM does restrict revs, based on coolant temperature.
The OP was also talking gearbox.
Oil temps and gearbox temps are another matter.
Still say you car takes at least 15 mins of driving until it it is even close to full
operating temps....and a lot depends on weather too.

the noise i hear usually comes after a longer period of driving...after the car is hot. i went out this weekend to try and hear and listen more for the symptoms.

i thought the car would be warm enough after 5 minutes...like i was saying im not a car expert, and the advice given here has been useful. most days i shift under 4, with maybe 1-2 redlines a day to keep the carbon away

i think im just paranoid due to the 60k warranty coming to an end and me having 59500 on the odo
