Help!-Battery

While installing an upgraded factory battery in my "8", I made an the idiot mistake of crossing the battery terminal cables. When I tried to crank it, I heard a click and dead. Can someone tell if I caused any major damage? Just a nubie excited about getting my car out for the weekend. I sure would appreciate input. ]

Thanks!

ok, try this, hook up the battery the right way, try and start it, see what happens. how did you hook it up backwards. the cables are pretty much tight to the correct positions, so its pretty hard to hook them up backwards

Hi Lurch :) Thwe battery is in the correct position I just made the idiot mistake of crossing the cables. ...Would crossing the battery cables cause engine damage? Because now there are no interior, door chimes or anything that comes on when you turn the ingnition on or crank. Im hoping overall that it is just a fuse issue.

Thanks again.

Hope it's a fuse.....

Check each and every fuse in the main fuse box. Don't forget the big one at the battery, and the other in the top left of the box.

Pray that you find a couple blown.

I hope you didn't fried the ECU

SOunds like you might of burnt up the ecu. A friend of mine fried his ecu in his 05 TSX while trying to charge to battery with a charger. Wasn't paying attention while hooking it up and next thing he knows his car is completely dead.

You can blow the diodes in your alternator pretty easy and a fuse won't even blow.

I don't have a wiring diagram. Does this car have a fusible link in the wiring harness. If so, that is the first place to look because that would be the first thing to go.
