Green vs. K&N
Anyone have an idea about the real/potential differences in performance and filtration between Green brand and K&N brand air filters? All I can tell so far is Green filters cost ~50% more here in the U.S...

GO Green! It fits perfectly in the box. The construction is just as good if not better than the K&N. You won't be dissapointed.

I'm a happy green performance filter customer... I've done a few other airbox mods for testing, but the green drop-in has been the best so far. The construction is top notch and feels like it will last the life of the car, unlike some K&N stuff I've owned.

I went with the Green filter because I read that due to the molding process it has more exposed filter surface area in the panel (oem style panel filter). ...Which I thought would be better. So around the perimeter, there is less rubber gasket material overlapping the screen and filter material than in "other" brands - supposedly.

I just bought a K&N and should get it today, have always used them and never had a problem with their quality.

Here's a pic of my intake box setup- I've removed the two plastic dividers, and one of the two mesh screens... which combined with the high-flow filter gives a nice intake growl. I've tried a lot of things, like removing the "horn", playing with different lengths of the tube protruding into the airbox, putting a cone-style K&N filter in, removing both screens, etc... and this is the best of all the set-ups. I've also replaced the fresh-air intake 'sock' coming out of the VFAD with a 90 degree nitrile rubber elbow to make it a true cold-air intake:
