green kind of slime in the oil?

Ok so I've had my car for about a month now, and was driving from my mothers this friday, and my oil light came on from time to time.

So the next day I checked how much oil was on the car, with the oil level stick( dunno what it is called in english) and it was under the minimum level, about half a liter under, since I filled 1 liter, and it came right in the middle of the max and min bar after refill.

But when I drew up the oil stick, it had lots of green slimy stuff on it.

What can this be? is this normal?

And the last oil change was this february, like 3 months ago, and the car has been driven around 2k kilometers.

Got an appointment at the dealer tomorrow, and will ask them about it also

You need to check the oil on a much more regular schedule. You are aware that the rotary comsumes oil as a normal part of its operation? If not, now you do. The oil level light is a warning that you should not postpone. The milly stuff is likely condensation on the dipstick. Search "foam on dipstick" or something similar and you should find the answers you seek.

^true, and i pray to the man upstairs you dont have a leaky coolant seal either..but then it would be kinda milky....lol

I'm no expert but slimy green stuff is no good, most likely what ^he said.

And the term in English is 'Dipstick'.

I don't know how different things are in Norway but if it were me, I might change the story a little bit so if there is an issue they don't pin it on owner negligence. So that whole part about checking the oil and it being under the minimum level, THEN adding oil... leave that out and just say it was in the middle of the dipstick so you filled it up to full but then... (continue story here).

Yeah the dealer are quite nice actually, but they were gonna plumb the dipstick, bottom plug and the oil plug, and let me drive it 1000-2000 kilometer to see how much oil it used... as to the green slime, they were gonna investigate it

Ok so my car is finished at the dealer and there were several reclamation items on the car, the thing on the dipstick was because of the dipstick itself making condense, so the dealer will fix this with another appointment:)

So no worries for me:D

Look under the car and see if you have any leaks. For now get an oil change hopefully that will sclear it up.
