Funky Radiator Light
 

Can anything else beside Temp. trigger the radiator light to come on and off intermittently?

I'm currently running 100% distilled with Watter Wetter by Redline, but the problem did also occur on stock rad. fluid. though with less frequency.

I have a home made screen thats spaced off the radiator, do you think that could be obstructing too much airflow?

Light goes on if I stay at 4-5k for longer than 10 minutes (i.e. 80-95 on the higway). Sometimes flicks on if I closely follow someone for an extended period of time.

Temp gauge does not move.

Polak, i came across this problem too.. i can tell you some about it.

Apparently the coolant level sensor in the overflow tank is crap. Out in MM's area he reported them as 'dropping like flies' and quickly becoming the number 1 warrantee claim. there is no way to replace the sensor as it is built into the tank, so the whole tank has to be replaced. there have been multiple attemps to clean it with contact cleaner and god knows what else with no results. its been the concensus at this point that the sensor just flat out sucks and dies. apparently the only really good solution is to just unplug the sensor right there at the bottle and keep a good eye on temps and coolant level when your under the hood. i've done this and watch temps on the scangauge(which isnt an issue with the AP) and look at my coolant every time i pop the hood.

now as to why you see this during sustained RPM, i cannot tell...? i had the same symptoms and i can tell you that it will get worse over time. eventually you wont be able to cruise on the freeway(75mph in 6th gear) without the light coming on after 5 mins. otherss have reported also that it appears to be tied to RPM, but it may be mass coincidence or i dunno?
