Fuel System Cleaners

Hello all.

I did a search for "fuel system cleaner", but I didn't get a firm set of thoughts on them. Basically, I've heard from several mechanics (back when I was driving my 1989 Audi 200 Turbo quattro, great car!) that it's a good idea to use such a product regurally, like after every oil change or 3000 miles, to help keep your injectors clean, decrease deposits, yada-yada-yada. So, I followed their advice and used Chevron Techron and didn't encounter any problems with it. My Audi had 135K miles on it and we kept her running strong.

However, what do you guys think about using a FSC in a new car? Is using a FSC a complete waste of money? And if not, at what intervals should a FSC be used, with specific attention to it's use in rotary powered cars? FWIW, my 8 just got it's 9,000 mile oil change yesterday, and I tried out a bottle of Redline's SI-1 FSC for the first time. It was about half the cost of the Techron product and went with it based on Redline's outstanding reputation on this board.

Thanks for any insights or suggestions!

I've only ever tipped in octane booster, but apparently, the bottle states that it also has injector cleaning abilities, snake oil?
