Fuel Pump Replacement

I was just wondering which fuel pump replacement would be the unit of choice or which you would suggest I purchase.

1. Genuine Walbro 255 LPH High Pressure In-Tank Electric Fuel Pump Universal GSS342 for $68

2. OEM/Arram Fuel Pump Motor from Black Halo Racing for $75.

I searched the forum and all that I found was mixed reviews

All your really going to find is mixed reviews.
Deatschwerks Performance Fuel Pumps | Black Halo Racing

OEM/Arram Fuel Pump Motor | Black Halo Racing

Charles offers both of those on BHR's website. Im gonna recommend anything he sells simply because of the customer service. IMO you really arent going to find better service anywhere. If your planning on upgrading other things with the motor i.e. FI or anything like that i would go with the 1st. If thats not the case, the OEM arram will more than suffice.

I actually found the one for $68 on Ebay but it is the same as on Black Halo instead of $110. This is the actual listing: Genuine Walbro 255 LPH High Pressure in Tank Electric Fuel Pump Universal GSS342 | eBay

I guess my real question would be if they would both get the job done.

First, Ebay has a lot of Fakes, I even bought a Fake Exedy Clutch on Ebay before, I knew it was fake from the pictures, but I bought it anyway cuz they offered a no questions asked money back policy, so I bought it, take pictures, sent it back (and bitch at them of course) rofl. and yea, there are lots of bootleg Walbro around on Fleebay.

2nd, Charles does not sell Whinebro ... Walbro Anymore, Whinebro fails often even on Genuine parts.

You can buy anything you want off ebay. But when it comes to customer service should you get a faulty pump or something go wrong your SOL. Im going to stick to what i said earlier. Always remember... You get what you pay for.

nycgps- im pretty sure he's trying to find the cheapest route. I gave him the two links to the pumps charles offers. Seems like he'd rather go the cheap route and roll the dice.

SO I guess that you are saying the I should go with the OEM/Arram Fuel Pump from Black Halo Racing

quickimpact 05-21-2014 08:56 PM

Actually, forget about the Ebay thing because I have purchased items form this seller in the past and everything has been up to par. What my question is if I should get the Walbro or the OEM/Arram fuel pump?

Then again i will ask are you planning on going FI anytime soon, Nevermind. It's already been pointed out in this thread that walbro fails quite often. I still can't get behind purchasing anything aside from mabye a grounding kit from ebay. To many fakes, to much lost time. If your not going to go FI anytime soon i would say http://black-halo-racing.myshopify.c...uel-pump-motor

A lot of folks complain about the Walbros being quite loud.

I installed the DW200 last week (on Charles' recommendation) with two goals in mind:
- quiet operation
- supports both NA and FI applications (some higher powered pumps heat up too much while running NA and fail prematurely)

If you have the choice, go with the DW200 so you've got the option of going FI later without buying a new pump down the track.

I know of several DW200s failing recently ... there are so many factors though that sometimes it's hard to say where the fault is
