fuel pressure gauge not working after fuel pump

Correction: Title meant to say fuel gauge not fuel pressure gauge.

So I just installed a new oem fuel pump, put it all back together and sealed it back in the tank, but I believe my fuel gauge is not reading now. Either my car gets excellent gas mileage now or the gauge isn't properly reading. Is there a step when reassembling the fuel pump that can cause this? Pretty sure I put it back together properly as in the pics in some of the posts I read. My car was at an 1/8 of a tank when I replaced it than i drove it around and its still at 1/8 of a tank.

So it looks like the fuel gauge sender unit is under the passenger rear seat. Is it possible that the line that connects to the fuel pump setup is hung up? Would that do it? Not sure how the sender works?

there's actually 2 sending units since the tank is split in half and they are both averaged out to give you your dash reading. i was going to say it could have been left disconnected but the gauge would read nothing versus a constant stuck reading.

it is possible that the crossover tube got wedged under the driver side float assembly.
