AT Fuel Injectors
I need to swap out my fuel injectors but I don't know which color/size I need for my Automatic 8. If anyone knows the correct size/color please let me know. Thank you!

this might be a stuiped question. but why are you swaping out your injectors?

they are most likely clogged/dirty and my car is running like shit. bad gas mileage, rough idle, etc..Charles Hill actually came by and diagnosed my car and he thinks that could be it.

really? do you have the orginal engine? and how many miles are on it? im wondering if mine is the same thing

what fuel injector cleaner should I use? there so many out there

b&g 44k and seafoam are good choices.. you can now find seafoam at walmart..
i would do one can with half a tank.. but if the injectors are really clogged it will not do it.. removal and cleaning is the only way.. beers :beer: |
i am on my 2nd engine and it has 35k on it..i have tried BG44K and that didn't do anything..i need to get them removed and cleaned.

I dont' get how you clogged your injectors in 35,000 miles.

Here is how to get to your fuel injectors to get them cleaned
BEFORE REPAIR PROCEDURE WARNING: •Fuel is extremely flammable. Always keep sparks and flame away from fuel. Ignition may cause death or serious injury, or damage to equipment. •Fuel line spills and leakage from the pressurized fuel system are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injury or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedure". CAUTION : If there is foreign material on the connecting area of the quick release connector, it might damage the connector or fuel pipe. To prevent this, when the quick release connector has been disconnected, clean the connecting area before reconnecting it. Fuel Line Safety Procedure 1.Remove the fuel-filler can to release the pressure inside the fuel tank 2.Remove the fuel pump relay. 3.Start the engine. 4.After the engine stalls, crank the engine several times. 5.Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position. 6.Install the fuel pump relay. FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION 1.Follow the before repair procedure and perform fuel line safety procedure. 2.Disconnect the negative battery cable. 3.Remove the extension manifold (upper). (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) 4.Remove the extension manifold (lower). (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) Attachment 149246 5.Remove the VDI actuator bracket installation bolt and the position the VDI actuator out of the way. 6.Disconnect the fuel injector connector. Attachment 149245 7.Remove in the order indicated in the table. 8.Install in the reverse order of removal. 9.Inspect the variable dynamic effect intake (VDI) actuator. 10.Inspect all parts by performing the "AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE". |

have done both seafoam, and have been a big fan of 44k.. but if you get a good clog in an injector only removal and replacement will work..
it happened to me.. beers :beer: |
