Flywheel nut removal tip

Just a tip for anyone struggling with the flywheel nut removal. I swapped my clutch and flywheel this weekend in prep for a Turblown kit. I don't have an air compressor and that flywheel nut is on tight. I picked this up and had the nut off pretty quick. It still took a little work and patience but after about a minute and some light hammer tapping around the face of the nut it came off. It's electric and good for 345ft/lbs.

Definitely buy that used if you can. You can find used electric impacts(even good brands like that) for pretty cheap at the right pawn shop. This was a few years ago, but I remember selling those for less than half that price I think around $40 to $60. On ebay you can snag a new one for $100 or less sometimes.

In most cases anything less then a 4' breaker bar or a 500 ft lb impact won't work. You got lucky with the 375 ft lb electric.

Sorry I posted in the wrong spot. Perhaps I did get lucky, but it got the job done for me. I guess I will add: "your mileage may vary". Just trying to offer some help.

I have a tool that I bought 20 yrs ago for my 7 that provides a 10 to 1 torque reduction for that nut.
Sorry, the company that made it isn't around any more. But, if a vendor wanted to copy it and give me a royalty.......
