havent flooded dont really have what i consider hard starts(well maybe once)so i still have the same starter and original battery. got new plugs at servicre cause it was time.

OK, here is the scoop:

They are still trying to cure the 2096 code and giving better sealing at higher rpm with oil injection. Also at idle with more oil injection. Alot of people are using low grade fuel and lugging car around and causing carbon to build in engine. Oil will seal the apex seals to the chamber. also there is stratagy for cold start issues by messing with timing and fuel cut on start up. Like i said the only thing with higher rpm is more oil injection into the cylinder, These are the only things they are trying to change at this time. You really don't need the flash because you drive your car the right way, not like the ones that lugg around town and stop and never get into higher rpms. Well if any questions about this let me know. Happy driving and keep it red lined!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I got the new flash today, the service rep told me they reflashed it and my problems might of been from me not letting the engine warm up properly all the time! At times I'll be honest I wake up late and well I gotta goto work so I hop in turn the key.. and "SLOWLY" drive to work I am not stupid and just gun the car into 50mph! Now to goto Mazda site there and find out what has and hasnt been done to my car.. (i'm kinda scared now :( )

olddragger 07-05-2006 05:32 PM

well--hold on to your hat ladies and germs--reputable source told me today that ANOTHER flash may be out soon.Few weeks I am told. Seriously:(

zoom44 07-05-2006 11:12 PM

no i think i know whats happening here. ill wait for confirmation from OD. the most current level and the level for the for seeable future is S for 2004 mts and T for 2004 ATS . for 2005 cars they remain what i mentioned earlier in this thread

olddragger 07-06-2006 10:29 AM

Zoom is much more utd than I. I am repeating what I was told. Zoom I sent a PM. May be some confusion out there.
To tell you the truth I hope there is NOT yet again another reflash.

Ok guys--please forgive an old man. After further clarification(which i should have done before posting) it seems that the upcoming flash IS the one and only. The flash being spoke off here is the only flash in the works. Appreciate everyones help in clearing this matter up.
Now lets get ON with it!

Razz1 07-07-2006 01:25 AM

Now you got me thinking. I thought my flash was different than the one posted.

I might have had the ES flash for sometime now. Now where did I put all that paper work?

man some times i am just plain dense. i cant believe how long this has been staring me in the face.

ok back a while ago i said th e2005 flashes werent out yet. i was wrong.

see the US flashes for 2005 cars are broken down between AT and MT as well as fed and cali. so the number is sw-n3k(6,7,8,9)e(?,?). the number after k is fed/cali/mt/at and the letter after the e is the calibration. when the thermal damage recall came out it was E,F . so next would be F and G.

I hadnt seen those number scome up. i had forgotten until reminde by someone todsay that the FED flash and the Canadian flash are supposed to be the same. Today i was sent the Canadian flash number for 2005 cars-N3Z8EF00018H60---
and it finally dawned on me.

i was seeing a number included in the flashes that didnt make sense -sw-n3z(a,b,c,d) e (f,g) ooo- as it didn conform to what i understand of th epart numbers. but then i rrealissed it is the 2005 flashes. Why they arent showing with the K(?) determiner i dont know yet. but at least its figured out:D:

so the 2005 cars have a new flash out as well and its been out just as long as the new 2004 flash it was just hiding.

im told the noticeable difference is idle with AC on--very smooth.
As far as Its been tested it seems OK with the Greddy E-Manage.

zoom44 07-15-2006 02:42 PM

so 2004 cars the new current flash is S/T

sw- N3Z(1,2)E(S,T)000 where 1 is the AT and the Flash is T and 2 is MT/S

2005 is F/MT or G/AT and either N3Z(A,B,C,D) or N3K(6,7,8,9)for fed/canada or cali mt/at

where are you? UK? the letter after the E is the calibration level so you would be on O .

also it is possible to flash it yourself with the mazda flashes. just not custom flashes.

its called pass -thru programming. www.mazdatechinfo.com read around there and you'll find what you would need. basically a j2354 device/cable a laptop and a subscription.
