Hey Just want to know when to do the First Oil Change

I have just done 900 km ( Still Break in Period ) 562.5 Miles

Opinions vary. I think I did mine around 1,000 or 1,200 miles.

You just want to get the gears and metal parts broken in and the shavings out...

I have a friend who bought his car, drove it for a few hours, then went back to the dealer the same day for an oil change.

You can change it right after you use your car

Or you can change it every 7500 miles like Mazda said.

It really depends on your driving style. if you drive like a Maniac or living in a hot climate area, then I suggest you to change it sooner.

I live in NYC, I drive very hard that my family calls me crazy, my gf was scared everytime shes in the car. and I change mine every 2000~ miles or so.

Just clean my Gear and Rear diff oil after 15000 miles of hard use. After seeing the dirt on the plug, I think I will change it 10K miles later.

How do you get the new fluid in the gear and tranny. I read the DIY on it and it was vey helpful and explanatory but not on that part.

I changed oil, oil filter, manual trans fluid, and differential all at 1000miles. There was metal break-in shavings on the magnetic plugs for both the trans and diff, so glad I did it.

I just did mine 3 days ago. Seriously speaking, even with the right tools its a pain in the ass to do it yourself ..... well for me that is

probably because the oil pumping part was .... I should've got a longer tube ... next time

You have to get a hand pump, they sell those at auto parts store, Just go in and ask you need a pump/tube kind of thing so you can put oil/fluid into your Manual transmission. Most of the time they will direct u to the right Equip.

Its pretty cheap, I got mine for like 2.99. but remember if you find one, GET A LONGER TUBE !!!!!!!!! Very important.

I spend nearly 2 hours just to try to pump the shit into the transmission cuz the tube is too short !

so you mean to say that i need to change the diff and transmission oil as well

cool, I hope its at Moster garage in Singapore.

They recomended me to Put 5w-40 mineral oil ( Trust )

Mostly , 5w30 is fine.

if its Singapore ....... but I think 5w40 is still too *thick* to run in a N/A engine.

and yes, change your transmission and rear diff fluid. You can re-use the old plugs at least one more time, while its out just clean the dirty with some towel. but You will need new washers.

New Washers - can you explain ?

Washer is the *Ring* kind of thing that goes between your Plug/bolt and your Transmission/Rear Different.

The picture attached, Left side is my Rear diff bottom plug, Right side is my Transmission bottom plug. THey're both magnetic plugs used to attach broken piece from the transmission/rear diff. As you can see, its stick with alot of dirt, this is about 15K miles of hard driving.

and u see the one to the right, it has a *silver* ring thing on the plug, thats the washer. Its crushable so it will be a good idea to replace them everytime you change your transmission/rear diff. Its very cheap anyway.
