Fill/Drain plug washers part number
 

Im just wondering are these correct ?

I called a few places up they have the differntial fillter plug. but not the Transmission one, they said its *in-corrected* So .....

I don't know why I wrote down 9956-41-801 for the diff., but the receipt says 9956-41-800.

I got it already, I dont know wheres my invoice (its in my car I think) but these should be the part number, and I think your receipt is right.

Top plug:Y601-17-495
Bottom Plug:Y602-17-495 (Magnetic plug)
Both Gasket Rear Covers:Y601-17-361.

I just changed my oil today .... both transmission and rear diff .... took me 3 fooking hours ! yea Im slow .... but hey its my first time so I think its ok ... pain in the ass to take the bolts out with my hand, tried like 30 mins just for one bolt with no luck, in the end I have to *kick* it to get it loose ..... Kick all 4 in 15 minutes .... not so bad. the next painful part was to add oil to the transmission, Rear diff was pretty easy because I have enough room to let my bottom go upside down so I can squeeze it ... but the transmission part has no room and That alone took me one hour ....

I could've pay someone to do all these, nice and easy, only 50 bucks. not even 1 hour of work. but the more I work on my car, the more I love my car :D

P.S : damn btw, I strongly recommend everybody to change their gear and rear diff oil more often. First change was when I hit 5K miles, now Im 21K miles. God damn it all those dirt that got stuck on both Magnetic plug. I still have them next to my desk maybe I should take a picture of it before I throw it away.

First time probably took me longer than that - mainly 'cause I had a problem getting the old oil to go into the drain pan instead of on the floor!

I used a long vinyl hose to transfer the lube from the bottle to the diff. and tranny; that seemed to help, I know clearance is pretty limited underneath.

Yeah, the old stuff usually looks pretty bad, gotta make you feel good about changing it!

So we have a different washer for the diff drain and fill plug, but it seems that finishlineperformance only lists one type of washer for the diff. What gives?

:lol: We poured the transmission fluid in where the shifter goes into the transmission. A bit of work to take the shifter out but much easier to pour. :D:

Yes. they're different.

The transmission has the same washer. but the rear diff, the top one is a *brown/bronze-ish* looking washer. while the bottom one looks almost the same as the one in transmission, except that its thinner.

Well if I had a longer tube I could've done it in 15 minutes :crying:

Lesson learned, will buy a long long tube before my next transmission/rear diff oil change (due in 10K miles)

I wish I had a pump that screwed on to fit the bottle for the Amsoil 75w90...

It takes like a hundred or two pumps to fill the diff. :rofl:

yea ..... I learned mine thru the hard way .........

So far I did all the oil change myself .... changed the intake myself, installed the ram air duct myself... lets see what should I do next ? maybe its time to do some harder stuff ? :angel:

Make yourself a custom grounding kit.

An exhaust isn't too hard to install once you learn how to conquer the rubber hangers.

Changing out your flywheel for a lighter one would be considered harder.

Baby steps... baby steps.... then custom work.
