Fender Vent Modification?
Just had an idea floating around in my head for the last couple weeks. Did some cursory searching, but didn't see anything other than the "Are they functional?" thread from 2002. Anyways, I was wondering if it would be possible to modify the fenders to allow how engine air out the vent. More cooling is usually better, especially on our car!
But yeah, maybe a few holes you can safely drill, etc? |
They're better modified to relieve some of the pressure that builds up inside the wheel wells.

Do explain!
Just cut out a rectangular piece of the wheel well liner and rivet a rectangular brake duct inlet there. Then use some flexible duct to route the air out of the fender vents.
The fender vents are actually functional and do vent some engine bay air out. The plastic cover does have an effect on the air flow to the vents also... There was a diagram posted a few years back by the late IceMark.
What about expanding the existing holes by the washer fluid bottle and the clutch MC??? Would this help vent engine bay heat?
no--it could actually hurt it.
Run a fresh air intake to the fender?
