Exclamation Engine / Trans Problems!!!! Help!

Having issues with my Rx8 not sure if it is Transmission or Engine trouble!!!!

The car when shifting jerks back and forth like it is having issues shifting. I replaced the coils, spark plugs, and plug wires. The trans had a flush very recently.

The car shifts fine when using the shiftronic and will shift fine if i put my foot to the floor, but with gradual speed increase is when it tends to jerk. It will also jerk more often when it is a bit colder out.

I was told my trans is fine. Any ideas?

So.....did you replace the plugs, wires, and coils trying to cure your low end power problem, the jerking problem, or both......or neither and you had some other issue we don't know about?
Any CELs at all in say the last three months whether flashing or solid?

I have a hunch, but need mo data!

I replaced the coils in an attempt to correct the jerking. the other replacements just needed to be done its 2005 w/ 51k miles. and the check engine light will come on very very briefly if it jersk extra hard.

There's a TSB, finishlineperformance.com out for the 6spd auto that talks about it bucking from 40-55mph.

If you made it shift without out bucking, you're probably right about tranny; explore the tranny some more.

My 07 auto never had the surge until its last hour.

When it started slipping, it wouldn't upshift to 4th as I tried to ease it to the dealer, but bucked a lot at about 50mph.

Your hint is it started doing it after you flushed; do you think the wrong fluid was put in.

I mean the auto trans specs for oil are crazy, all over the place, and most of the time can't be mixed unlike motor oil which can be mixed

Wait, does it jerk only when shifting, or when you are just staying in one gear?

Are you saying that if you floor it and accelerate quickly that the automatic shifting doesn't jerk, but that if you are accelerating slowly and it shifts it jerks you?

I wish I was averaging 17mpg, I'd be happy! I know my old car would jerk around when it was at a stand still and it was become one of the injectors wasn't spitting well so the entire cylinder was just crapping out.

It's normal if it jerks when accelerate in cold weather before the engine warms up.
My tranny also jerks from 1st to 2nd gear, only, other gears are fine.
Sometimes if I release the gas pedal a bit before shifting (low rpm), then it won't jerk, fyi.
Generally, high rpm shifting are smoother tho.

if you are getting 8.5 mpg then there is something wrong with you and your car.

avg 17mpg on 99% highway driving is ridiculously low. but it doesnt matter WHERE you drive it matters HOW you drive. if you are driving 99% highway but thats at 35 mph or even less like stop and go then thats the same as city driving. if on the other hand you are gettign on the Highway and shifiting up to 6th then cruising for a tank at 65 THATS highway driving.

if it was burnt @ 51k, do you know what code is being set? you could either have a pressure solenoid or one of the valve solenoids sticking/failing. We could guess the issue all day, but knowing the code would be best.

Where in NJ are you? Also I average 18 mpg, alittle less in the winter since I let it warm up longer. Who did the trans flush? Were you having this problem before replacing the coils, plugs, wires and tranny fluid? Did you ever get the CEL code?

Now does this problem only happen when its cold, hot or both? At a certain speed, gear or rpm?

If you live near me maybe I can help you figure out what is wrong.
