Engine Test Stand for Rx8 Engines.
 

Has anyone done a diy on how to build a test bench to turn on the engine out of the car? Is this even possible? I know its possible if you have a lot of money, but has anyone done one on a budget? I have seen some turn them on on the floor, what do I need to accomplish this? Thank you!

We have one that we hook up to the engine for an engine dyno. It has a fuel system.(.tank and pump/regulator) and a cooling system...a tank and a radiator and fan...and an oil cooler and lines..and a standalone ECU setup with coils to run the ignition. There also is a bellhousing with an adapter for the dyno and starter so we can start the thing

This is not something that you normally would need. Why would you want one? It is easier to install the engine in the car than to set this thing up :)

Well what happened is that I rebuilt my engine...and I have less compression than before!! lol. and now it wont start at all. Theres fuel and spark. The compression is just super low. I wanted to take it back out. see what I did wrong and start it out of the car...but I think what i am going to do instead is to get a bell housing and do a compression test with my starter before I put it back in the car. I also heard it could be my apex seals, that the ones I bought are not good with used rotor housings. so not sure :/ I would rather at this point just send it out to get done. All of my seals are brand new, springs are brand new too. I just don't know what I did wrong. My housing are in really good shape and so are my irons..... It seems like you rebuild engines, how much to do mine?? I am willing to ship if you do so.

Bro , check spark fuel all fuses make sure gas lines are correct injectors correct plugs etc. if all is well put some oil thru spark plug on both rotors then try again, is low compression cuz is new it takes. Bit to build compression , if fails push start should start fast if it don't double check all ,

used apex seals on used housings huh? great job right there.

No my apex seals are new. All of my seals are new. Im gonna try to start it with oil in the spark plug hole before I take it out. And pull start it as well! thank you guys!

I spoke with a reputable shop and they told me that the brand APex seals I bought are not very good with used rotor housings, that sometimes they are not machined right and are not wide enough. They told me to take them out and measure them across the rotor housing.

mind if I ask what new apex seal u bought ?

and seriously, it's never a good idea to use anything new with used housings, UNLESS the housings are ALMOST new.

I bought some Atkins. I'm goin to look for a pair of new housings. My looked to be in great shape.
