Engine Temps II
I tried the DEI Radiator Relief (same purpose as Redline Water Wetter, Royal Purple ICE, etc.), but it didn't help much in the engine cooling department in my case. Maybe with a higher water proportion in the coolant mixture it would have been more effective (I'm running a 60/40 mix). I'll definitely reinvestigate this at my next engine coolant change. Also, this little experiment was cut short because it started cooling off around here --- wish I gathered more data :(
I have the Mazmart RE-medy water pump sitting in the garage (for months now), so I'll eventually work that in somehow. Recording Conditions: * Same as Part I: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech-garage-22/engine-temps-115456/ * Coolant mix: 60/40 (water/antifreeze) Cowardly Disclaimer: Same as Part I: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=115456 http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...d-rel_5w30.gif |
thats a real interesting finding there---good work.

Nice! Above 80F or so, the coolant temperature change tracks almost one for one with the ambient change. This suggests the thermostat is already wide open at this point.

interesting stuff Elf!
you should go 70/30 |
that stuff will never help much
