Engine Temps II

I tried the DEI Radiator Relief (same purpose as Redline Water Wetter, Royal Purple ICE, etc.), but it didn't help much in the engine cooling department in my case. Maybe with a higher water proportion in the coolant mixture it would have been more effective (I'm running a 60/40 mix). I'll definitely reinvestigate this at my next engine coolant change. Also, this little experiment was cut short because it started cooling off around here --- wish I gathered more data :(

I have the Mazmart RE-medy water pump sitting in the garage (for months now), so I'll eventually work that in somehow.

* Coolant mix: 60/40 (water/antifreeze)

Nice! Above 80F or so, the coolant temperature change tracks almost one for one with the ambient change. This suggests the thermostat is already wide open at this point.

TeamRX8 09-24-2008 03:16 AM
