Engine questions.

Ok sorry for the name of thread but i didn't know what else to put on it. Well today i had victory in finally pulling my engine out. and i have a few questions. Yes i am going with a mazda reman. call me a idiot but blah ill give it another attempt.

Question 1: When they want the core. they do mean short block right?

Question 2: Well my helper decided. ill help him take out AC compesssor while he shits. and he takes out one of the lines that In my mind keep the air compressed. and as I'm walking out all i see is what looked like coolant. and a crap load of air go spurring out all over his face.. Question here is. did he break my AC compressor?

Answers will be nice. please don't try to waste my time with flames. Thank you.:Eyecrazy:

1. yes, but you might wanna make sure the engine is properly build, there are cases that the springs inside was flipped upside down.

2. he opened the A/C line, A/C is a sealed system with compressed R134A that contains oil for obvious reasons. when u open it, gas escapes with the oil, if u see green stuff, it means someone added R134a oil with UV dye in it. 90% of the time the dye is green.

1. Mazda sells the engine with the flywheel, oil pan, front cover, water pump, and main pulley.

you need to reuse/replace as needed your intake/exhaust manifolds, fuel system, metering oil system, air pump, clutch, any water hoses, and wiring/ecu.

2. no, but you will need to recharge the system.
